Summer break… really?

Dear blog friends, I have to apologize for my silence in the past days, but has been a very busy week. I’ve been to Rome with my mom and grandma and now I’m ready to leave for my belated summer holidays.
I didn’t stop since last year, and now with Enea my life is getting more intense. I really need a break. Despite that, the computer and the camera will come with me, so is not be ruled out that you’ll see me anyway in these pages.

Cari amici del blog, devo scusarmi per il mio silenzio nei giorni scorsi, ma è stata una settimana molto impegnata. Sono stata a Roma con mia mamma e mia nonna e ora sono pronta a partire per le mie tardive vacanze estive.
Non mi sono fermata dallo scorso anno, e ora con Enea la mia vita è sempre più intensa. Ho davvero bisogno di una pausa. Nonostante ciò, il computer e la macchina fotografica verranno con me, quindi non è da escludere che mi vedrete comunque in queste pagine.

Dream big baby #4: Ivy Cabin

I have a confession to make: before having Enea I never been interested too much in kids design, but now I can tell there is a whole world of beautiful products that make mamas very happy {like me}.
Pastel colors, curated illustrations and attention to details and materials: these are the characteristics I can recognize in these new products. Certainly a new and different approach compared to 10 or 15 years ago.
Ivy Cabin for example, gathers a curated selection of lovely products like posters, toys, tableware, textiles and much more. In the pictures below you can see the products they sent me, I think they are perfect for the Happy House!
I love the dipped basket, it matches the color of my table top and it’s perfect to collect the blankets and my shawls. The Doris doll is my fav, and Enea likes to play with it.. he throws it away, then he crawls super fast to reach it again and in the end he hugs it! It’s too much fun.
And the indian panda poster..well, it’s just too cute!
Check the website, I’m sure you will find something lovely for your baby or to make a special gift.

Ho una confessione da fare: prima di avere Enea non mi sono mai interessata troppo al design per bambini, ma ora posso affermare che là fuori c’è tutto un mondo di bellissimi prodotti che rendono felici anche le mamme {come la sottoscritta}.
Colori pastello, illustrazioni ben curate e attenzione ai dettagli e ai materiali: sono queste le caratteristiche che posso riconoscere in questi nuovi prodotti. Certamente un approccio nuovo e diverso rispetto a 10 o 15 anni fa.
Ivy Cabin per esempio, raccoglie una selezione di prodotti come poster, giocattoli, articoli per la tavola, tessuti e molto altro. Nelle foto qui sotto potete vedere i prodotti mi hanno mandato, penso che siano perfetti per la Happy House!
Adoro il cesto, è esattamente dello stesso colore del tavolino ed è perfetto per raccogliere le coperte e le mie scialli. La bambola Doris è la mia preferita, ed Enea adora giocarci insieme.. la lancia, poi velocissimo gattona per riprenderla e infine se la stringe per un abbraccio! È troppo divertente.
E il poster del panda indiano..è semplicemente troppo carino!
Date un’occhiata al sito, sono sicura che troverete qualcosa di bello per il vostro bambino o per fare un regalo speciale.

#1 Vintage table restyling

I rescued this little table from the dump. I painted the top in the same color as the dresser in my bedroom.

Ho salvato questo tavolino dalla discarica. Ho dipinto la parte superiore dello stesso colore come il comò in camera da letto.

Cleaning with style

Happy new week dear blog friends!
Last weekend while I was trying to clean the house I had two thoughts {and I bet I’m not the only one}:
1. cleaning tools are pretty much ugly;
2. I don’t have time to clean properly as I wish.
Keeping in mind these two things, I decided to search for nice tools that are useful yet nice to see. This little research might be helpful to start a cleaning routine, as I don’t have one. I clean when I think is needed and I prefer to take a walk in the park with my son instead of stay inside and clean.
I’m not a cleaning freak, but of course is always rewarding living in a tidy and fresh home. 
I’d like to hear your opinion and if you have any suggestion, please share!

Buona nuova settimana cari amici del blog!
Lo scorso fine settimana mentre stavo cercando di pulire casa, ho realizzato due cose {e scommetto che non sono l’unica}:
1. gli attrezzi per la pulizia sono piuttosto bruttarelli;
2. non ho assolutamente tempo di pulire bene come vorrei.
Tenendo a mente queste due cose, ho deciso di cercare qualche strumento utile ma anche bello da vedere. Questa piccola ricerca potrebbe essere utile per avviare una routine di pulizia, visto che non ne ho una. Pulisco quando penso che sia necessario e preferisco fare una passeggiata al parco con mio figlio invece di rimanere in casa a pulire.
Non sono certo una fanatica dell’ordine, ma naturalmente è sempre gratificante vivere in una casa sistemata e fresca. 
Mi piacerebbe sentire il vostro parere e se avete qualche suggerimento, condividetelo!

Urban Jungle Bloggers :: Show your plant gang {and the first birthday present}

This month’s Urban Jungle Bloggers post is a bit late on schedule, but I hope you will like it anyway. The topic for this month is “Show your Plant Gang“. I have more than one “gang”, as I like to group my plants together: I have the silly idea that they prefer company and stay close to each other.
The windowsill in my living room hosts a nice bunch of succulent plants, like the shelf close to the sofa. And the new Vitra Rotary tray I got for my birthday {I know, I should have wait until tomorrow..} is the perfect place for the two Tiger mugs I use as pots.
I wish you a lovely weekend, I will celebrate my birthday tomorrow, so let’s hope in a sunny day!

Il post di questo mese della serie Urban Jungle Bloggers è un po’ in ritardo sulla tabella di marcia, ma spero che vi piaccia comunque. Il tema di questo mese è “Show your Plant Gang“. Ho più di una “gang”, visto che mi piace raggruppare le mie piante: ho l’ idea molto naïve che preferiscano stare insieme e rimanere vicine le une alle altre.
Il davanzale nel mio living ospita un bel gruppetto di piante succulente, come come la mensola vicino al divano. E il nuovo vassoio Vitra Rotary che ho ricevuto per il mio compleanno {lo so, lo so, avrei dovuto aspettare fino a domani..} è il posto ideale per le due tazze di Tiger che utilizzo come vasi.
Vi auguro un bel fine settimana, domani festeggerò il mio compleanno, quindi speriamo in una giornata di sole!

Dreaming of… a dark wall

As I said here, I’m going to start new columns in the next days. Today is time for the first one, that I decided to call “dreaming of…”, where I will share a collection of inspirations and ideas for my home, and maybe for yours too!
And here the idea: paint a wall in deep blue or black {but also dark gray is an option}. As you may noticed my house has only white walls, except for the one in my studio and in the laundry room. Dark walls are the perfect background if you want to display bright and colorful items and objects, so now I’d like to try to paint one. The fact that stops me, is that all the walls are “continuous”, that means that I don’t have any small corner or section that I can paint. And obviously I don’t want to make a whole wall, but just a portion. So, now the dilemma is: which one? I was thinking about this one, in the entryway, under the stairs..the contrast between the white wood could be interesting. 
Do you have a suggestion? And do you have dark walls in your homes? 

Come ho detto qui, nei prossimi giorni ho intenzione di inaugurare un paio di nuove rubriche. Oggi incominciamo con la prima, che ho deciso di chiamare “Dreaming of…”, dove condividerò spunti e idee per la mia casa, e magari anche per le vostre!
Ed ecco l’idea: dipingere un muro di blu scuro oppure nero {ma anche grigio scuro è un’opzione da considerare}. Come potete notare, la mia casa ha solo pareti bianche, ad eccezione di quella nel mio studio e nella lavanderia. I muri scuri sono lo sfondo perfetto per far risaltare gli oggetti colorati, quindi vorrei provare a dipingere uno. Il fatto che mi blocca, è che tutte le pareti sono “continue”, il che significa che non ho nessun angolo o sezione che posso dipingere. E ovviamente non voglio fare un muro intero, ma solo una parte. Quindi adesso il dilemma è: quale muro? Stavo pensando a questo dell’ingresso, sotto le scale..il contrasto con il legno bianco potrebbe essere interessante. 
Voi cosa mi suggerite? Avete pareti scure nelle vostre case?
